Custom Renaissance Wedding Invitation Commissions: |
||
With Medieval and Renaissance theme weddings becoming more and more common these days, why is there such a dearth of comely invitations to choose from?Here's an overlooked but wonderfully unique option: Have a custom invitation made. Thinking it's wildly expensive? It doesn't have to be. Instead of having a full length portrait done of the two of you in full costume, you can have Illuminated lettering with a celtic knot border. Customizing is just that. Elements can be added or removed to accommodate the budget. The bells and whistles are up to you. The sample below is an invitation package I designed with a client. |

My Client wanted a Lady in a castle looking out into the courtyard for the arrival of her lover, who would be arriving on horseback under a full moon. There was also a poem that she had written that she wanted added to the inside of the card if possible. Of course it was. Both the invitation and the response card bore the same image, although this was not required, and a matching stamp and accent sticker completed the package. To help keep costs down, existing images were chosen and digitally altered. She liked the celtic border but wanted the colors changed to better reflect the autumn wedding date. Autumn leaves were added to enhance this theme. She wrote the text: "True Love is Worth the Journey" and I offered several type font options and she chose the one she wanted. I recommended the satin background for a more traditional wedding invitation feel, and for the elegance it always creates. |

Her poem was placed on the inside top, and the satin with fall leaves motif from the front were used to maintain a uniform consistency. Type color was matched to the front celtic border. Another option would be to add directions instead. The leaves motif could be flowers, a shield boss or anything else you have in mind. Borders can be matched to your wedding colors. The inside top of the response card has the satin background and leaves motif as well with no text. On her invitation the date, time and place information was added and number of people attending option was added to the response card. The preferred meal option could be placed here as well. |
